Lydia Cavallo Zasa

 
 

Lydia Cavallo Zasa is the Director of Screenwriters Colony, leading its mission to discover and support exceptional screenwriters who are contributing groundbreaking stories to the world. Since joining SWC in 2015, Lydia has overseen the growth in the organization’s programming beyond its flagship October Colony for feature screenwriters. Under her leadership, Screenwriters Colony has added episodic drama and episodic comedy programs, as well as an exploratory lab for writers of Virtual Reality.

Lydia is responsible for developing and executing programming, discovering and curating dynamic cohorts of the most talented emerging screenwriters, stewarding financial development and partnerships, and overseeing all operations of the non-profit organization. She previously served as Director of the Columbia University Film Festival and established the school’s ScriptConnect program which links top graduate student writers with the film industry. Her passion for hard working writers and filmmakers with unique voices has been a constant in her work.
