Zachary Wigon


Zachary Wigon’s debut feature THE HEART MACHINE, which he wrote and directed, starred John Gallagher Jr. and Kate Lyn Sheil. The film premiered in competition at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival, where Variety named it one of the festival’s 10 best.

THE HEART MACHINE went on to screen at BAMcinema Fest, Nantucket, Sarasota, Leiden and American Film Festival Wroclaw, among many other festivals. It was released theatrically in North America by Film Buff in October 2014, receiving critical acclaim from numerous publications. Wigon was named to Paste Magazine’s list of The 10 Best New Filmmakers of 2014 as well as The L Magazine’s 30 under 30 list.


His forthcoming feature I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU is in development with Parts & Labor Films.


His 2012 short SOMEONE ELSE’S HEART won the Hammer to Nail Short Film Contest and played the Maryland Film Festival.
A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts (Film & TV Production), he is also a former film critic, having contributed to Vanity Fair, The Onion A/V Club, and The Village Voice, among many other publications.
