Born in post-industrial Yorkshire, England, Rory Haines started his career in London working in television production as an editor, cameraman, and producer before directing a three part documentary series filmed in Nashville and London. Rory moved to New York in 2007 to join the MFA film program at Columbia. Since moving to New York, Rory has been working on several feature screenplays and short films. His most recent short, DRY RIVER ROAD, played at Palm Springs Festival, as well as other festivals and events in both Europe and the US. He recently directed one of a series of shorts by New York directors starring Tom Gilroy. Now in his third year at Columbia, Rory has been teaching under esteemed film critic and scholar Andrew Sarris, as well as working for acclaimed writer Christina Lazaridi.
