Mitchell Lichtenstein is a writer-director whose current film is ANGELICA, adapted from the novel by Arthur Phillips. Mitchell wrote the first drafts of HAPPY TEARS at the Colony; it premiered at the Berlinale in 2009. TEETH, his first feature, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005, and is becoming a cult classic. His short film RESURRECTION premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2004.
As an actor, he co-starred in Ang Lee’s THE WEDDING BANQUET (Golden Bear – Berlinale) and in Robert Altman’s STREAMERS (Best Actor – Venice Film Festival). He is a graduate of Bennington College (BA), and The Yale School of Drama (MFA).
