In 2017 First Look Media optioned Bill’s original psychological thriller screenplay, Bastard. The project has Martin Scorsese attached to executive produce and Academy Award nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (Silence) attached to direct as his feature film directorial debut.
Primarily a screenwriter, Bill’s creative work also includes directing and producing. His work ranges from the dramatic to the comedic, from science fiction to thriller to musical comedy.
He wrote the screenplay for the genre-bending film, +1, a New York Times Critic’s Pick. In 2014, The Quitter, a feature film he wrote, was described by The New York Times as a “textured, heartfelt drama.” His original comedic web series, Couples, launched on Vimeo in 2015.
Bill’s debut as a writer/director came with his short film, One Year Down, which premiered the same year as his full length stage musical, You Again, a Musical about Cloning, which he wrote, produced, and directed for the The New York International Fringe Festival. His collaboration with director John Hyams (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning) resulted in The Ignorant Bliss of Sun and Moon, a short film Bill adapted from his own short story by the same name.
Bill has worked with filmmakers Dennis Iliadis (Last House on the Left), John Hyams (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning), Bart Freundlich (Trust the Man), and Matthew Bonifacio (Lbs). Additionally, he has worked closely with producers Alix Madigan (Winter’s Bone), Tim Perell (Shortbus), Annie Marter (Transcendence), and Jordan Horowitz (La La Land).
Bill has been selected for Hollywood’s Black List, named a semi-finalist for the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, and won the Best Screenplay Award at the IFP Market in New York City. He is represented by ICM and Management 360. He lives in Brooklyn.
