The End of The Affair: Up Close with Sarah Treem

Wow. It’s difficult to get a show out of your head…

and onto the page and then onto the screen. It’s exponentially more difficult for that work to result in FIVE SEASONS of stories.

We are so proud of our prolific alum Sarah Treem who has been at the helm of “The Affair” for the entire ride.

Her inventive series premiered on Showtime on October 12, 2014. Sarah and her team explored the emotional effects of extramarital relationships from different points of view. Episodes are often separated into two parts, with each half being told from the point-of-view of a specific character. This is the sign of a true storyteller, someone who knows how to step into the shoes and look through the eyes of every character she has created.

The series won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama and Wilson won for Best Actress – Television Series Drama at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards in 2015. At the 73rd Golden Globe Awards in 2016, Maura Tierney won the award for Best Supporting Actress.

Congratulations Sarah! We’re looking forward to seeing where the final season goes and what you invent in the future.
